New Markets Capital

RADA works to maintain accurate and current knowledge of New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program capital available from Community Development Entities (CDE) seeking investment opportunities in North Carolina.

Our goal is to help secure NMTC debt and equity funding for eligible projects so that new employment opportunities are created for area residents, and so that the local economy will continue to grow and provide a high quality of life for all citizens.

The New Markets Tax Credit program was developed by the Federal government to help revitalize targeted urban and rural geographic areas through the:

  • retention and creation of jobs
  • renovation and expansion of vacant business properties and community facilities
  • purchase of an existing business or the building in which your business is operating
  • purchase of major equipment for business expansion.

The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program permits taxpayers to receive a credit against Federal income taxes for making qualified equity investments in designated Community Development Entities (CDEs). Substantially all of the qualified equity investment must in turn be used by the CDE to provide investments in low-income communities.

RADA assists developers and investors in identifying NMTC funding resources, and in preparing preliminary documents to determine eligibility for receipt of the program’s low interest rate financing.

If you have a project that may be eligible for a New Markets Tax Credit investment, contact us at 919-807-8400 or connect@rada-nc.com.
